About Rhiannon Newton

Rhiannon Newton is dancer and choreographer. She studied at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts and keeps a base in Perth where she contributes to the dance sector as a performer, choreographer, collaborator and teacher. Her developing practice has been significantly influenced by work with Rosalind Crisp, Yasmeen Godder (Israel), Anouk van Dijk (Holland) and Jan Fabre (Belgium).  In 2011 Rhiannon created The Check Point Solo with Jo Pollitt and presented it at Under The Radar, Brisbane Festival and The Judson Church New York City. Rhiannon has recently been supported by the Australia Council to return to New York to engage in a new solo research project.
